UN reports on preventing violent extremism summit in Washington

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon spoke at the opening of the White House Summit on Countering Violent Extremism. 

In his speech he discussed the emergence of a new generation of transnational terrorist groups including the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and Boko Haram which he advised to be a grave threat to international peace and security. Find a summary of his speech here.
